Help Me Choose Tool

The Help Me Choose Tool was there to solve the problem of getting users to interact on Samsung.com as well as helping users understand what products would fit into their lifestyles best.

I was the lead designer on the project working alongside UX designers, strategy and copywriters.

This was done by multiple choice questions, budgets and use cases being gathered to then offer the user a recommended product as well as upselling to the user and then on the other hand showing a slightly cheaper model if appropriate.

The first iteration went through user testing on a prototype wireframe level then came to me to come up with the look and feel as well as UI for the tool across desktop and mobile.

The idea behind look and feel was to link towards the gaming aesthetic which relies a lot on neon glows and dark colours. While also adhering to Samsungs strict design/UI guidelines.

I then worked closely with the development team ensuring everything was ready to go.

It was a great success

Upon the success of the monitors HMC tool the client then wanted to be done across all the other categories including laundry, refrigerator and TV.

The entire tool has led to high interactions from users completing the questions and also conversions on placing orders.

The tool is constantly being optimised based on user data and analytics.

The Help Me Choose Tool for laundry needed to feel more fresh and lifestyle so decided to keep the core functionality of the monitors HMC but utilise the vast amount of lifestyle images Samsung have so not only is it a tool to help uses find the product they want but can also act as an image gallery as users move through the journey.
